Benefits & Financial Support

The scholarship amount is disbursed annually. For undergraduate courses (3-year B.Sc., 4-year UG FYUGP/Hons, or first 3 years of 5-year Integrated P.G. course), the annual amounts are ₹12,000 for the 1st year, ₹18,000 for the 2nd year, and ₹24,000 for the 3rd year. For postgraduate courses (4th year UG Hons/FYUGP/1st year PG, and 2nd year PG/5th year Integrated P.G. course), the annual amounts are ₹40,000 and ₹60,000 respectively. The scholarship is credited to the students' Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts through National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT).

Selection Process

Selection for the Prathibha Scholarship is based on the aggregate marks obtained in all science subjects in the Higher Secondary Examination

Eligible applicants are grouped into three broad subject categories: Mathematical Sciences (30% weightage), Physical Sciences (40% weightage), and Life Sciences (30% weightage), based on their chosen main subject for the degree course

A Provisional Selection List (PSL) is prepared by KSCSTE, followed by document verification for the Final Rank List (FRL)

The scheme ensures at least 50% of selections for female students and 10% of seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates.
Renewal Policy

Renewal of the scholarship for the 2nd and 3rd years of undergraduate/integrated P.G. courses, and the 2nd year of P.G./5th year integrated P.G. course, is subject to scoring the minimum credit requirement as per the University Grants Commission's National Education Policy-2020 curriculum and framework for the previous year

For continuation to a postgraduate course, scholars must complete their undergraduate course with a minimum of 75% marks and have received the scholarship for all three years of UG study

How to Apply Online
Applications are submitted online via Online. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.
- 1Visit the Official KSCSTE Website
Go to `www.kscste.kerala.gov.in` and navigate to the Prathibha Scholarship section.
- 2Locate the Registration Link
Find and click on the 'Register' or 'Online Application' link for the Prathibha Scholarship Programme.
- 3Prepare Required Information
Ensure you have a valid mobile number and email ID (which must remain active throughout the selection process), and a recent passport-size photograph (150W × 200H pixels).
- 4Enter Basic Details
Provide your Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, and Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) Roll Number to start the registration.
- 5OTP Verification and Password Creation
Verify your registration using the One-Time Password (OTP) received on your registered mobile number and set a password of at least 6 characters.
- 6Receive Application Number
Upon successful registration, an Application Number will be generated and sent to your registered mobile number along with your chosen password. Keep these credentials safe for future logins. ### Stage 2: Application Submission (After Provisional Rank List Publication)

The Provisional Rank List is usually published on the KSCSTE website (www.kscste.kerala.gov.in) during March/April. Regularly check the website for updates.
- 8Login to the Portal
If your name is on the PRL, log in to the Prathibha Scholarship web portal using your Application Number and password.
- 9Upload Documents
Shortlisted candidates must upload scanned copies of the following documents to the portal for scholarship confirmation and final selection: * Student Data Sheet (duly signed by the applicant and endorsed by the Head of the Institution). * Self-attested copy of Higher Secondary Examination mark list. * Community Certificate (for SC/ST applicants). * Proof of Kerala origin. * Signed 'Terms & Conditions' form. * E-payment form (in the prescribed format).

Common Questions (FAQs)
Can applicants hold other scholarships simultaneously with the Prathibha Scholarship?
No, applicants are not allowed to receive multiple scholarships for the same course of study. If a student opts for an alternate scholarship after receiving the Prathibha Scholarship, the amount received must be refunded to KSCSTE.
What are the minimum marks required for eligibility, and are there relaxations for reserved categories?
For general category applicants, a minimum of 90% marks or an equivalent grade is required in the Higher Secondary Examination for all subjects combined, as well as a minimum of 90% marks or an equivalent grade for all Science subjects combined. For SC/ST category candidates, the eligibility requires a minimum of 80% marks or an equivalent grade in both overall and science subjects.
Who is eligible to continue the scholarship for a Postgraduate course?
Students who have received the Prathibha Scholarship for all three years of their undergraduate program and have graduated with a minimum of 75% marks in their degree course are eligible to continue the scholarship for their postgraduate course.
