Selection Process
The selection process is globally competitive and based on personal, academic, leadership, and professional achievements. It involves multiple stages:
District Review:Applicants first submit their application to a local Rotary district. The district conducts an interview and, if suitable, endorses the application.
Rotary Peace Centers Committee Review:The Rotary Peace Centers Committee, comprising Rotary members and university representatives, reviews endorsed applications.
Criteria:Applications are assessed based on eligibility, English proficiency, commitment to peace and development, leadership potential, compatibility with fellowship objectives, academic record, and fit with preferred university programs.
Final Selection:Finalists are selected, and all candidates are notified of the results in November.
University Admission:Selected fellows must then apply for and gain admission to their assigned Rotary Peace Center university. Fellowship selection does not guarantee university admission.
Renewal Policy
The Rotary Peace Fellowship is a one-time award for a Master's degree program (15-24 months) or a Professional Development Certificate (3 months)
It is not renewable in the traditional sense for subsequent years of the same program
However, there are restrictions for applying to different
Rotary programs after completing a fellowship: recipients of a Rotary Global Grant scholarship or a Rotary Peace Fellowship (certificate program) must wait three years after completion to apply for the master's degree program, and master's degree fellows must wait five years to apply for the certificate program.
