Benefits & Financial Support
The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the MSc in Surgical Sciences (Online Learning) program. This is approximately £4,560 (583,680 INR) for Year 1 and £5,320 (680,960 INR) for Years 2 and 3, based on 2026-2027 tuition fees and an exchange rate of 1 GBP = 128 INR as of July 2026. It also includes a contribution towards internet access costs.
Inclusions
Nationality/Residency:Applicants must be a national and current resident of a country listed as low-income or lower-middle-income by the World Bank for the entirety of their studies.
Academic Offer:Must have received at least a conditional offer of admission to the MSc in Surgical Sciences (Online Learning) program at the University of Edinburgh.
Degree:Must hold an accredited medical degree (MBChB or equivalent).
Professional Status:Should not have yet achieved Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS or equivalent) before starting the program. However, applicants who have passed MRCS Part A but not yet Part B will be considered.
Clinical Environment:Must be in a supervised clinical environment for the duration of the studies (e.g., Junior Doctor position, CT1, CT2, etc.).
English Language Proficiency:Must demonstrate strong English language proficiency.
Commitment:Must show commitment to improving healthcare outcomes in their home country, with clear career goals and an explanation of the program's impact on professional development and patient care.

Application Process
- 1Apply for Admission
Apply for admission to the MSc Surgical Sciences (Online Learning) program at the University of Edinburgh and obtain at least a conditional offer.
- 2Gather Documents
Prepare all required documents, including your academic records, personal statement, and letter of support.
- 3Access Application System
Once you have a University User Number (UUN) (provided with your admission offer), access the EUCLID online scholarship application form via MyEd, the university's online information hub.
- 4Complete Scholarship Form
Complete the online scholarship application form.
- 5Submit Letter of Support
Provide a Letter of Support from your local Educational/Training Supervisor or Director by emailing it to eso.scholarships@ed.ac.uk before the deadline.
- 6Submit Application
Submit your complete scholarship application through the official website before the closing date.
- 7Await Notification
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their scholarship application by the end of August 2026.
