Columbia University Graduate Fellowships

Selection for the Graduate Fellowships for doctoral students is primarily merit-based and tied to admission into a doctoral program. Funding decisions are made by the respective academic departments. Satisfactory academic progress is required to continue receiving funding in subsequent years.

For doctoral students in Humanities and Social Sciences, funding is typically guaranteed for six years. For students in Natural Sciences, funding is generally guaranteed for five years. Continued eligibility is contingent upon remaining in good academic standing and, for student officers, discharging pedagogical or research duties responsibly.
