Did They Really Cancel the YASASVI Entrance Exam?

Yes, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment officially scrapped the YASASVI Entrance Test (YET) previously conducted by NTA.

Students no longer need to sit for an entrance examination or buy special guidebook materials.

Selection is now executed 100% on merit using previous academic board marks.

For Class 9 Students: Merit is calculated based on Class 8 final examination marks.

For Class 11 Students: Merit is calculated based on Class 10 board examination marks.

The higher your percentage in your previous qualifying examination, the higher your placement on the state merit list.

Even with top academic marks (such as 90%+), applications will be rejected if your school is not empanelled.

PM YASASVI grants are restricted to students studying in Top-Class Empanelled Schools registered on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Visit the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in).

Click on "Search for Empanelled Schools/Institutes".

Select your State, District, and School Management Type (Government / Aided / Private).

Verify if your school's UDISE Code appears on the empanelled list for PM YASASVI.

If your school is not empanelled, ask your school principal or nodal officer to apply for NSP empanelment.

PM YASASVI provides major financial coverage for selected students:

Class 9 and 10 Students: Up to ₹75,000 per year covering school tuition fees and hostel charges.

Class 11 and 12 Students: Up to ₹1,25,000 per year covering school tuition fees, hostel, and book allowances.

Complete NSP OTR Registration: Register on NSP using your Aadhaar number and complete Face Authentication via the NSP OTR app.

Select PM YASASVI Scheme: Choose the PM-YASASVI Pre-Matric or Post-Matric scheme under the Ministry of Social Justice tab.

Upload Verified Documents: Upload scanned copies of your marksheet, income certificate (< ₹2.5 Lakh), and category certificate.

Institute Verification (L1): Submit your application ID to your school nodal officer for mandatory L1 verification.

All funds are remitted via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.
