Benefits & Financial Support
The fellowship provides comprehensive coverage including J-1 visa support, a monthly stipend to cover living expenses in the U.S., Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges (health and accident coverage) per U.S. Government guidelines, round-trip economy class air travel between India and the U.S., applicable allowances (including a modest settling-in allowance and professional support funds), and modest affiliation fees, if any. A one-time research allowance of $500 is also provided. No allowances are provided for dependents, and the grant is not sufficient to support family members. The estimated annual amount in INR is based on a 9-month fellowship duration with an average monthly stipend of $2,750 USD (approx. 2,065,125 INR based on 1 USD = 83.5 INR).
