Ishan Uday is a special scholarship scheme by UGC for students of North Eastern Region to promote higher education.
Benefits & Financial Support
The scholarship pays ₹5,400 per month (₹64,800/year) for general degree courses, and ₹7,800 per month (₹93,600/year) for technical/professional/medical/paramedical courses. Payment is disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account.

Selection Process
Selected based on Class XII academic merit ranking
There is a fixed quota of 10,000 slots per year distributed among North Eastern states according to population density.
Renewal Policy
Requires passing the previous year's exam, promotion to the next class, maintaining good conduct, and minimum attendance
The renewal application must be submitted and verified by the institution on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) annually.
