About the Program
The National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students is a central sector scheme providing financial assistance to ST students for pursuing M.Phil, Ph.D, and other higher education courses.
Benefits & Financial Support
Fellowship component provides ₹37,000/month (M.Phil/Ph.D JRF) and ₹42,000/month (Ph.D SRF), plus contingency and HRA. Scholarship component covers full tuition fees in notified premier institutes, a monthly living allowance of ₹2,220, books allowance of ₹3,000/year, and a one-time computer grant up to ₹45,000. All payments are disbursed via DBT directly into the student's Aadhaar-seeded account.

Requires passing the previous year's promotional examination / annual progress report by the supervisor, maintaining regular attendance, and online submission of progress/fee details on the portal.
