Benefits & Financial Support

The scholarship amount varies based on the course of study. Selected scholars pursuing Medicine (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS) will receive Rs. 50,000 per annum. Those pursuing Engineering (BE, B.Tech, B.Arch) will be awarded Rs. 40,000 per annum. For graduation in any discipline, integrated courses, diploma courses, vocational courses, or ITI courses, the amount is Rs. 20,000 per annum. A special scholarship for girl children pursuing higher studies in Intermediate/10+2 pattern, vocational, or diploma courses after Class 10 will receive Rs. 15,000 per annum. All amounts are payable annually in two equal installments. The scholarship amount will be transferred directly to the selected scholar's active bank account via NEFT. Candidates must provide accurate bank account details, IFSC code, and a copy of a cancelled cheque with the beneficiary's name.

Selection Process

Selection for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2026 is based on merit

Candidates are shortlisted and finally selected in the descending order of marks obtained in their qualifying examination (Class 10th or 12th/Diploma)

Preference is given to students whose parents have a lower annual income in case of a tie in marks

The scheme prioritizes applicants from families with an annual income between Rs. 0 and Rs. 2,50,000

If there are insufficient eligible candidates in this income bracket, students with an annual family income between Rs. 2,50,001 and Rs. 4,50,000 are considered and ranked separately by marks

Each of LIC's 112 Divisional Offices selects 80 candidates for the General Scholarship and 40 for the Special Scholarship, totaling 120 scholarships per division

The scholarship is awarded for the entire duration of the course for 'Regular Scholars' and for two years for 'Special Girl Scholars,' provided the recipients meet the stipulated renewal conditions

For students in Medicine and Engineering streams, a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade is required in the previous annual/semester examination, along with passing all subjects

- 4Fill the Application Form
The LIC scholarship application form will be displayed. Carefully fill in all the required personal, academic, income, and bank details. Ensure all information, including name, father's name, gender, state, date of birth, nationality, PIN code, email, family income, and bank account details (Name of Bank, Branch Name, Account Number, IFSC code, and a copy of a cancelled cheque), is accurate.

Common Questions (FAQs)
Can a student receive other scholarships along with the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship?
Candidates who are already receiving scholarships from other private trusts or institutions are generally not eligible for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship. However, this rule does not apply to students who are receiving scholarships from the Government (State or Central) either at the time of selection or after being selected for the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme.
What are the academic requirements to continue receiving the scholarship in subsequent years?
To ensure renewal of the scholarship, students in Medical and Engineering streams must secure at least 55% marks or an equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade in their previous annual/semester examinations and pass all subjects. For other graduation courses (Arts, Science, Commerce), a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade is required, with all subjects passed. Special Girl Child scholars must achieve at least 50% marks and pass all subjects in their 11th standard examination. Regular attendance is also a prerequisite for renewal. Are post-graduate or distance learning courses eligible for this scholarship?
No, the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme is not intended for post-graduation studies. However, integrated courses that combine both graduation and post-graduation studies are eligible for the scholarship for their entire duration. Additionally, candidates pursuing courses through correspondence, part-time (evening or night classes), or as private candidates are not eligible for this scholarship; it is specifically for students enrolled in regular courses at government or private colleges/universities.
