The scholarship amount varies based on the course of study. For medical courses (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS), an amount of Rs. 50,000 per annum is awarded. For engineering and architecture courses (BE, BTECH, BArch), the annual scholarship is Rs. 40,000. Students pursuing graduation in any discipline, integrated courses, diploma courses, vocational courses, or ITI programs receive Rs. 20,000 per annum. For the Special Scholarship category (after Class 10th), an amount of Rs. 15,000 per annum is awarded. All scholarship amounts are payable every year in two equal instalments. The scholarship amount will be transferred directly to the selected scholar's active Aadhaar-seeded bank account through NEFT.

Selection Process

Candidates are selected based on merit, specifically the percentage of marks obtained in their previous qualifying examination (Class 10th or 12th/Diploma, as applicable)

In the event of a tie in marks, preference is given to students whose parents/guardians have a lower annual income

Further preference is given to applicants with an annual parental income between Rs. 0 and Rs. 2,50,000

If there are not enough eligible candidates in this income band, then applicants from the Rs. 2,50,001 to Rs. 4,50,000 income band are considered

Applications are automatically routed to one of LIC's 112 Divisional Offices based on the applicant's PIN code

Each Divisional Office selects a predetermined number of candidates (80 under General Scholarship and 40 under Special Scholarship)

Renewal Policy

Scholarship is provided for the entire duration of the course (excluding internship or stipendiary periods), subject to the candidate fulfilling the requisite eligibility conditions for annual renewal

For General Scholarship recipients in Medical and Engineering streams, a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade must be secured in the previous annual/semester examination, along with passing all subjects

For General Scholarship recipients in Graduation (Arts/Science/Commerce) and other courses, the candidate must secure at least 50% marks or equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade in the previous annual/semester examination and pass all subjects

For Special Scholarship (after Class 10th), the candidate must secure at least 50% marks and pass all subjects in the 11th standard examination to be eligible for renewal

Failure to meet these requirements will result in the discontinuation of the scholarship.

- 3Fill Application Form
The application form is online and requires details such as your full name, father's name, gender, date of birth, nationality, residential address (including PIN code), mobile number, and active email ID. Your application will be routed to a Divisional Office based on the PIN code provided.
- 4Provide Academic Details
Enter details of your qualifying examination (Class 10 or Class 12), passing year, percentage/CGPA, and information about your current higher education course and institution.
- 5Enter Bank Details
Provide your active bank account details, IFSC code, and upload a copy of a cancelled cheque with your name as the beneficiary. Ensure the bank account is active.
- 6Upload Documents
Upload required documents, including a recent passport-size photograph, marksheet of the last qualifying exam, admission proof from your educational institution, income certificate of parent/guardian, Aadhaar Card or valid identity proof, and the cancelled cheque.
- 7Review and Submit
Carefully review all the information entered to ensure accuracy before final submission.
- 8Save Acknowledgement
After successful submission, you will receive an acknowledgement email with an application number and the name of the Divisional Office handling your application. Save this for future reference.
- 9Status Tracking/Further Communication
Any further correspondence will be handled by the Divisional Office mentioned in your acknowledgement email. Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for document verification. There is no direct online status tracking portal; queries regarding the application status are generally not entertained.

Who is eligible to apply for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026?
To be eligible, candidates must have passed Class 10th or 12th (or equivalent/Diploma) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade in the academic years 2023-24, 2024-25, or 2025-26. They must have taken admission in the first year of an eligible course for the academic year 2026-27. The total annual income of parents/guardians from all sources must not exceed Rs. 4,50,000 per annum.
