Benefits & Financial Support

The scholarship amount is ₹3,000 per month for girls, totaling ₹36,000 per year, and ₹2,500 per month for boys, totaling ₹30,000 per year. The amount is paid annually after selection and is credited directly into the Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts of selected applicants through the Public Finance Management System (PFMS) under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Programme of the Government.
Monthly stipend of ₹2,500 for boys and ₹3,000 for girls, paid annually to support technical/professional education.
Note: Limited to students pursuing their first professional degree program recognized by regulatory bodies (AICTE, MCI, UGC, etc.). Wards of civilian employees are not eligible.

Selection Process

Candidates are selected based on merit and prioritized categories. A total of 2000 new scholarships are granted each academic year (1000 each for boys and girls) in addition to renewal cases. The selection process involves online application on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), followed by verification by the respective college/institute/university and then by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) & Assam Rifles (AR)/State Police personnel. The Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB) then re-checks verified applications and generates a merit list in consultation with NIC.

Eligibility is extended to wards/widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel who died in harness/election duty, wards of personnel disabled due to causes attributable to Government service, and wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry Awards. Wards/widows of retired and serving CAPFs & AR personnel (below Officer Rank) are also eligible, subject to scholarship availability.

What are the eligible professional courses for this scholarship?
The scholarship is admissible for students pursuing their first professional degree programme in fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.Sc (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA, and MCA. It is restricted to the first professional degree courses only; for integrated courses like ME/M.Tech/M.Pharma, the scholarship will be provided for the initial three/four years as applicable.
How is the scholarship amount disbursed to the beneficiaries?
The scholarship amount is disbursed annually directly into the Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts of the selected applicants. This is done through the Public Finance Management System (PFMS) under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Programme of the Government, ensuring a transparent and efficient transfer of funds.
Can I apply for this scholarship if I am already receiving another scholarship or studying abroad?
