₹50k+

A lump sum amount of ₹50,000 per annum is provided for every year of study. This amount is directly transferred to the selected student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scholarship covers college fees, purchase of books, equipment, laptops, software, and desktops. No additional grants are provided for hostel charges, medical charges, etc.

  • Lump sum grant of ₹50,000 per annum paid directly via DBT.

  • No separate receipts are needed; covers tuition, books, computers, and living costs.

Note: Restricted to AICTE-approved institutions and female students.

Selection Process

  • Candidates are selected based on merit, specifically the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent examination)

  • Scholarships are apportioned to SC/ST/OBC categories as per Government of India norms

  • A total of 10,000 scholarships are awarded annually, with 5,000 for degree courses and 5,000 for diploma courses

  • Additionally, all eligible girl students from certain Union Territories and North Eastern States (Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, & Tripura) will be awarded the scholarship upon applying.

Renewal Policy

  • The scholarship is renewable annually

  • To be eligible for renewal, students must progress to the next academic year without any gaps

  • If a student fails or drops out in a subsequent year, she will forfeit the scholarship and will not be eligible for further assistance

  • Renewal applications are also invited through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

How to Apply Online

Applications are submitted online via Online. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

    Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in. Click on the 'New Registration' button and carefully read the guidelines. Fill in all required details to complete the registration.

    After successful registration, you will receive an Application ID and password on your registered mobile number. Log in to the NSP portal using these credentials. You may be prompted to change your password, which is a mandatory step.

    Select the AICTE Pragati Scholarship scheme. Proceed to fill out the application form with accurate personal details, educational background, and bank account information.

    Upload scanned copies of all necessary documents. These typically include: Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, Aadhaar Card, Annual Family Income Certificate, Admission Letter issued by the Centralised Admission Authority, Receipt of paid tuition fee for the current academic year, Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook (showing applicant's name, account number, IFSC code, and photo, duly signed by the Manager with bank stamp), Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/HOD, Attested copy of Caste Certificate (if applicable), Applicant's passport-size photo, Scanned signature, and a duly signed declaration by parents.

Who is eligible for the AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girl Students?

To be eligible, a girl student must be an Indian citizen and admitted to the first year of a technical degree or diploma course, or the second year through lateral entry, in an AICTE-approved institution. The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8,00,000 per annum. A maximum of two girl children per family can avail of this scholarship. Admission must be through a centralized admission process of the State or Central government; students admitted through the management quota are not eligible.

What is the scholarship amount and how is it disbursed?

The scholarship provides a lump sum of ₹50,000 per annum for every year of study (up to 4 years for degree and 3 years for diploma, or 3 years for lateral entry degree and 2 years for lateral entry diploma). This amount is directly transferred to the selected student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and can be used for college fees, books, equipment, laptops, software, and other academic expenses. Can a student apply for the Pragati Scholarship if she is already receiving another scholarship?

No, students who are already in receipt of any other Central Government, State Government, or AICTE-sponsored scholarships are generally not eligible to apply for the AICTE Pragati Scholarship.
