About the Program
Swanath provides financial stability to vulnerable students (orphans/martyr wards) pursuing regular technical degrees/diplomas.
Benefits & Financial Support
₹50k+
Selected students will receive a lump sum amount of ₹50,000 per annum for every year of study. This amount is intended to cover college fees, the purchase of computers, stationery, books, equipment, and software. The scholarship will be disbursed only through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the Aadhaar-seeded bank account of the student by AICTE. No other additional grants will be payable for hostel charges, medical charges, etc.
Fixed ₹50,000 per year.
Note: Support for students who lost parents to provide continuity in technical education.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates is based solely on the merit of the qualifying examination to pursue the Degree or Diploma course from any AICTE approved institution. For Degree level courses, selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the 10+2/equivalent examination. For Diploma level courses, selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the 10th/equivalent examination.

In case of a tie in the qualifying examination percentile:

For Degree Level:Higher percentage of marks in the 10th examination will be ranked higher. If a tie persists, the candidate of elder age will be ranked higher. If still tied, the candidate with lower annual family income will be ranked higher.

For Diploma Level:The candidate of elder age will be ranked higher. If still tied, the candidate with lower annual family income will be ranked higher.

A maximum of 2000 scholarships are awarded annually (1000 for Degree students and 1000 for Diploma students).
Renewal Policy

The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study upon receipt of a renewal application through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). This requires submitting a promotion certificate along with a bonafide certificate from the Head of the Institution on the NSP portal.

Students who fail to get promoted to the next class/level or do not apply in time for the scholarship will forfeit the scholarship.
How to Apply Online
Applications are submitted online via Online. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.
- 1Registration
Visit the National Scholarship Portal (https://scholarships.gov.in). If you are a new user, register by providing details such as State of Domicile, Scholarship Category (Central Sector Scheme), Name of Student, Scheme Type (Scholarship Scheme), Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number, Email ID, Bank Details, and Identification Details (Aadhaar is mandatory). After registration, an Application ID and password will be generated.
- 2Login
Log in to the NSP using your Application ID and password. For renewal applications, use your previous year's login ID and password.
- 3Fill Application Form
Complete the online application form with accurate personal and academic details.
- 4Upload Documents
Upload scanned copies of all required documents in the specified format. Essential documents include: * Bonafide Certificate issued by the institution. * Class 10 Marksheet. * Class 12 Mark Sheets (for Degree level applicants). * Death Certificate(s) of parents (if applicable – specifying COVID-19 cause if relevant, or certificate by Tehsildar/SDM for orphans). * Martyrdom Certificate (if applicable, for wards of Armed Forces/Paramilitary Forces). * Income Certificate for the current year, explicitly stating that the family income is less than ₹8,00,000. * Aadhaar Number of the applicant. * Bank Account Details (copy of passbook or canceled cheque with applicant's name, account number, and IFSC code, linked with Aadhaar). * Recent Passport Size Photograph. * Domicile Certificate issued by a competent authority. * Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL), if applicable. * Notarized affidavit on Rs. 100/- stamp paper mentioning details as per the enclosed format (refer to scheme guidelines for format).

Carefully review the entire application form and uploaded documents before final submission.
- 6Verification
The host institution where the candidate is studying will verify the online application (first level verification). Subsequently, the Department of Technical Education (DTE) of the respective State/UT will conduct a second level of scrutiny.

What is the eligibility criteria for the AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme?
To be eligible, a student must be an Indian national and fall into one of the following categories: an orphan, a ward whose either or both parents died due to COVID-19, a ward of Armed Forces or Central Paramilitary Forces personnel martyred in action (Shaheed), or a ward whose parent is suffering from a critical life-threatening disease or is severely disabled (above 80%) in an accident (as per RPwD Act 2016). Additionally, the annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 Lakhs. The student must be pursuing a technical degree or diploma in a regular mode at an AICTE-approved institution (in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year) and must not be a recipient of any other Central, State, or AICTE-sponsored scholarships.
How will the scholarship amount be disbursed and what does it cover?
The scholarship amount of ₹50,000 per annum will be disbursed directly into the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) by AICTE. What happens if a student fails a year or is already in the second, third, or fourth year of their course?
If a student fails or drops out in a subsequent year, they will not be eligible for further scholarship under this scheme. For students who are already in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a degree course, the duration of the scholarship will be reduced to 3, 2, or 1 year respectively. Similarly, for students in the 2nd or 3rd year of a diploma course, the scholarship duration will be reduced to 2 or 1 year respectively.
