About the Program
Chief Minister's Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) is a universal scholarship program for Meghalaya students pursuing higher education, regardless of family income.
Benefits & Financial Support
₹6k+
Each eligible student will receive a fixed annual scholarship of ₹6,000. The amount will be directly credited to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. The amount may be revised by the Government from time to time. Students can avail this scholarship in addition to other central or state scholarships.

Note: Unique scheme with NO income ceiling for Meghalaya residents.

Renewal Policy
To continue receiving the scholarship annually, students must secure at least 35% marks in the preceding academic year.
How to Apply Online
Applications are submitted online via Online. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

Go to the Meghalaya One portal (https://meghalayaone.gov.in).

If you are a first-time user, click on 'Register to new user' or the 'Registration for New User' option and complete the registration process using your PDS/Ration Card Number or EPIC (Voter ID) Number. If already registered, log in using your credentials (mobile number/email ID/EPIC ID and password).

From the dashboard, go to 'Services' or 'Scholarship Services' and select the 'Chief Minister's Scholarship Scheme' or 'CMSS 2025'.

Click on 'Apply Now'.
- 5Fill Application Form
Complete the online application form with all required details. Verify your mobile number/email with the OTP sent.
- 6Upload Documents
Upload scanned copies of the required documents in PDF format. These typically include: * Proof of Domicile/Identity (e.g., MHIS Card, MGNREGS Job Card, EPIC, PDS Card). * Previous year's mark sheet. * Recent passport-size photograph. * Bonafide Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution. * Bank Account details or Cancelled Cheque. * Self Declaration by the applicant.

Who is eligible for the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme (CMSS)?
The scholarship is available to students who are permanent residents/domiciles of Meghalaya, are enrolled in full-time regular courses from Class XI up to Ph.D. level in recognized institutions (within or outside the state), and have a valid bank account, mobile number, and email ID. There is no income ceiling for applicants.
Can students pursuing part-time or correspondence courses apply for CMSS?
No, students pursuing part-time or correspondence degrees/courses are not eligible to apply for the Chief Minister's Scholarship Scheme. Only students enrolled in regular full-time courses are considered.
Can I receive CMSS along with other scholarships?
Yes, students can avail of the Chief Minister's Scholarship Scheme in addition to other scholarships applied for through the National Scholarship Portal or similar state/central portals.
