Benefits & Financial Support

The scholarship provides financial assistance covering course fees and a maintenance allowance. Course fee reimbursement is up to INR 20,000 per annum for both hostellers and day scholars. For students admitted to one of the 85 listed premier institutions, the full course fee is reimbursed, which may exceed INR 20,000 per annum. The maintenance allowance is INR 1,000 per month for hostellers and INR 500 per month for day scholars, provided for 10 months in an academic year. The scholarship amount is disbursed directly into the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

If marks are the same, the applicant's lower annual family income will be given preference. 30% of scholarships are earmarked for girl students of each minority community in a State/UT, which is transferable to male students if eligible female applicants are unavailable.

How to Apply Online
Applications are submitted online via Online. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

If you are a new user, register by providing your domicile details, name, date of birth, gender, mobile number (verified via OTP), and email ID to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR). If already registered, log in to your account.

On the dashboard, select the "Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS (Minorities)" under the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
- 4Fill Application Form
Complete the online application form with all required personal, academic, and income details accurately.
- 5Upload Documents
Upload scanned copies of necessary documents, which typically include: domicile certificate, self-declaration of minority community status, self-attested copy of your most recent academic mark sheet, Aadhaar card or Aadhaar enrollment slip, income certificate issued by the relevant state/UT authority, bank account details (account must be in the student's name and preferably Aadhaar-seeded), and a recent passport-size photograph.

To check the scholarship payment status, visit the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) portal (pfms.nic.in) and use the "Track NSP Payment" option, providing your Aadhaar number, bank account number, or NSP Application ID.
Common Questions (FAQs)
What if my Aadhaar is not linked to my bank account?
Applicants are advised to link their bank account with Aadhaar for faster disbursement and ensure the account remains active. If your Aadhaar is correctly entered in the online application and is linked to any of your bank accounts, the scholarship amount will be credited to that Aadhaar-linked bank account only, even if a different non-Aadhaar-linked bank account was mentioned in the application. You should also ensure your bank account's 'Know Your Customer' (KYC) status is complete.
Can I apply for other scholarships along with this one?
No, you can avail only one central government scholarship at a time among the SC/ST/OBC/minority category schemes. This scholarship cannot be combined with another from that group.
What happens if I fail an examination or discontinue my course?
The scholarship will be discontinued if a student fails to secure at least 50% marks in the previous annual examination (or each semester/trimester, as applicable). Furthermore, a scholar is liable to refund the scholarship amount if the studies for which the scholarship was awarded are discontinued or if there is a change in the subject of study during the course of the year.
