About the Program
Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) provides massive financial support to J&K and Ladakh students to pursue higher education outside their UT.
Benefits & Financial Support
₹1.3 Lakh+
The scholarship provides financial assistance covering academic fees and a maintenance allowance. Academic fee coverage varies by course: up to INR 30,000 per year for General Degree courses, up to INR 1.25 Lakh per year for Professional/Engineering courses, and up to INR 3 Lakh per year for Medical/BDS or equivalent courses [5, 8, 11, 27]. Additionally, a fixed maintenance allowance of INR 1 Lakh per annum is provided to all students [2, 8, 11, 27]. This allowance is paid in 10 monthly installments: for the first year, the first installment is INR 20,000, followed by 8 monthly installments of INR 10,000 each.
