About the Program
Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM) is West Bengal's premier merit-based scholarship for students from HS to PG level with strong academic performance and family income up to ₹2.5 lakh.
Benefits & Financial Support
Scholarship amounts range from INR 12,000 per annum (INR 1,000/month) for UG Arts/Commerce to INR 60,000 per annum (INR 5,000/month) for UG Engineering/Medical/Professional; PG Arts/Commerce receives INR 24,000, PG Science INR 30,000, and PG Engineering/Medical INR 60,000 annually. Payments are made via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) directly to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account, usually in monthly installments.

Merit-based financial assistance for meritorious students with limited means.
Important Note
Requires high academic performance. Annual family income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. Kanyashree recipients with 45% also eligible for PG.
Eligibility Criteria & Income Limit

Renewal Policy
To renew annually, students must maintain minimum 60% marks in undergraduate courses or 50% marks in postgraduate courses in consecutive semesters
Fresh applications are required each year through the portal, and students must submit updated income certificates and institute verification forms
Failure to meet the mark threshold or providing false information leads to cancellation.
