Eligibility Criteria & Income Limit

Mandatory Documents Checklist

• ✓Completed undergraduate admission application to York University for Fall 2026.
• ✓Online International Student Scholarship Application form (for PISE).
• ✓Personal statement (maximum 500 words) explaining candidacy, professional goals, leadership skills, commitment to volunteer work and/or extracurricular activities.
• ✓List of Extracurricular Activities & Community Involvement (maximum 3).
• ✓List of Previous Awards (maximum 3).
• ✓Contact information for a guidance counsellor, principal, or senior official for nomination.
• ✓One letter of recommendation or other supporting documents from the nominator.
• ✓Academic transcripts and certificates (as part of the admission application).
• ✓Proof of English language proficiency (if required for admission).
• ✓Passport or valid identification (as part of the admission application).
• ✓Any additional program-specific documents requested by the university.
• ✓All required documents must be shown as “Received” in the York application (MyFile) by the deadline.

How to Apply Online

Applications are submitted online via the official portal. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

  Apply for Admission

  Submit your application for an undergraduate program at York University for Fall 2025, Winter 2026, or Fall 2026 admission. Ensure all required academic documents are submitted for assessment.

  Automatic Consideration

  You will be automatically considered for these scholarships based on your final admission average. No separate scholarship application form is needed.

  Notification

  If selected, you will be notified via email of your scholarship offer. Scholarship offers are typically included with your offer of admission.

  Accept Admission Offer

  Accept your offer of admission by the deadline indicated in your offer letter to maintain scholarship eligibility.

  Disbursement

  Scholarship funds are automatically applied to your York Student Account at the start of each year level to offset tuition and fees. For Application-Based Scholarships (e.g., President's International Scholarship of Excellence):

  Confirm Eligibility

  Review the specific eligibility criteria for the scholarship, including academic performance, leadership, and extracurricular activities. For the President's International Scholarship of Excellence, you must be a high-school student entering your first year in Fall 2026 and hold international student status.

  Apply for Admission

  Apply for admission to an undergraduate program at York University. You will receive a 9-digit York reference number within 5 business days of applying.

  Access Scholarship Application

  Once you have your York reference number, you can access the 'International Student Scholarship & Award Application' form, usually found within your MyFile application portal. The Fall/Winter 2026-2027 application opened on November 1, 2025.

  Complete Application Form

  Fill out the online scholarship application, which may require a personal statement outlining your goals, leadership, and community involvement, and a list of extracurricular activities and previous awards.

  Submit Supporting Documents

  For scholarships like the President's International Scholarship of Excellence, ensure a nomination from a guidance counselor, principal, or senior school official, and a reference letter are submitted by the deadline (e.g., January 26, 2026, for Fall 2026 awards).

  Track Status

  You can typically track the status of your scholarship application in the 'Applications' section of your FAAS (Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships) App or MyFile portal.

  Notification and Disbursement

  If selected, you will be notified by email. Funds are applied directly to your York Student Account.
