Q.What is the Nagaland State Merit Scholarship?
The Nagaland State Merit Scholarship is awarded by the Department of Higher Education, Nagaland, to academically outstanding students from Nagaland pursuing studies in recognised institutions in India. It is meant to encourage and reward high academic achievers.
Q.Who is eligible for the Merit Scholarship?
Applicants must be indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland or non-indigenous permanent residents who secured top 10 positions in Board/University exams, pursuing post matric studies (Class 11 and above) in recognised institutions, and meet the qualifying percentage requirements for their respective class/year.
Q.What are the selection criteria?
Selections are based purely on academic merit and subject to availability of funds. Preference is given to those with the highest scores in their respective categories (Class 10, 12, UG, PG).
