About the Program

Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana is a conditional cash transfer scheme by the UP government that aims to eliminate female foeticide, improve health and education indicators for girls, and support them financially up to graduation.

Benefits & Financial Support

₹25k+

Total financial assistance of ₹25,000 per girl child disbursed in six stages from birth to college admission.

Provides direct financial support in six installments: ₹5,000 at birth, ₹2,000 on vaccination, ₹3,000 on Class 1 admission, ₹3,000 on Class 6 admission, ₹5,000 on Class 9 admission, and ₹7,000 on securing admission to a degree/diploma course after Class 12.

Selection Process

Direct eligibility-based selection for families residing in UP who have a family annual income of less than ₹3,0,000 and a maximum of two daughters.

Renewal Policy

  • A fresh application is made at the start of each of the six milestone stages.

Applications are submitted online via Online. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

How many girls in a family can benefit from this scheme?

A maximum of two girls in a family can benefit from this scheme. In case of twins or triplets, exceptions are made.

What is the new family income limit?

The family annual income limit from all sources must not exceed ₹3,0,0,000 (3 Lakhs).

Are girls studying in private schools eligible?

Yes, girls studying in private schools, government schools, or government-aided schools in UP are all eligible, provided the family income is within limits.
