When you apply to a university that uses Uni-Assist, you do NOT apply on the university's website. You apply through Uni-Assist's central portal: my.uni-assist.de.

Uni-Assist charges an evaluation handling fee:
- 1st Application: €75 (~₹6,800 INR).
- Each Additional Application: €30 (~₹2,700 INR).

After payment, your status changes in the portal:

The Single PDF Merge Rule
Never upload 8 separate PDF files for 8 semesters of marks! Merge all 8 semester marksheets into one single PDF file (Semester_Transcripts_1to8.pdf). Evaluation officers reject cluttered uploads.
The Personal IBAN Matching Rule (If Paying via Bank Transfer)
If you pay fees via international bank transfer instead of a credit card, Uni-Assist assigns a Personal IBAN on your account overview screen. You MUST include your Applicant ID Number in the transfer reference note, or your money will be lost in Uni-Assist's general pool!
Check Program-Specific Questions
Certain universities require you to answer online questionnaires inside Uni-Assist (e.g. "List the number of ECTS credits you completed in Theoretical Computer Science"). If you leave these answers blank, the application will not be processed.
Downloading the VPD PDF for Direct Portals
If applying via the VPD Procedure (Route 2: Uni Assist Manual):
- Uni-Assist does NOT forward your file to the university.
- Uni-Assist issues a 1-page VPD Certificate PDF in your "My Inbox".

Can I upload additional documents after paying the fee?
Yes! As long as the university's official application deadline has not passed, you can log into my.uni-assist.de and upload updated documents (such as a newly arrived APS certificate or retaken IELTS score).
How long is a Uni-Assist VPD certificate valid?
A Uni-Assist VPD certificate is valid for 1 year from the date of issue. You can use the same VPD to apply for both the Winter and Summer intakes within that year!
