How Candidates are Selected
Candidates are selected based on academic excellence. Applicants are considered for a scholarship when they submit their complete MSc application, including the mandatory scholarship documents, before the scholarship deadline. Students who have been granted a scholarship are informed by TU Delft via email by the end of March 2026.

Your college/school checks your bonafide status, fees paid, and marks cards against the database.
District Welfare Officer / State Board Sanction
The state/central department approves the budget release for verified records based on category quotas.
Fund Disbursement via DBT
The bank issues direct fund credits to Aadhaar-seeded accounts using treasury payment systems.

Q.When will I know if I have been awarded the scholarship?
Students who have been granted a scholarship will be informed by TU Delft via email by the end of March 2026.
Q.Is a separate application required for the scholarship?
No, there is no separate application portal. You must submit a complete MSc application with the mandatory scholarship documents (including the scholarship application form and two reference letters) before the deadline. Your MSc application will then automatically consider you for the scholarship.
Q.What is the minimum GPA requirement?
Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 80% or higher on the maximum scale from their bachelor's degree earned from an internationally renowned university outside the Netherlands.
Q.Does this scholarship cover Joint Education Programmes?
No, the Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships are only for students conditionally admitted to one of the 2-year regular TU Delft MSc programmes, not an International Joint Education Programme.
