Selection Process

  • Candidates are selected based on merit:they must be above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream (Science, Commerce, or Humanities) from their Class XII Board of Examination

  • Selection involves a two-level verification process: first by the Institute Nodal Officer (INO) at the student's college/university, and second by the concerned State Higher Education Department or designated State Nodal Agency.

Renewal Policy

  • Scholarship is renewable annually for up to 5 years total

  • To renew, students must apply again on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) as a renewal applicant, submitting necessary marksheets

  • Key conditions for renewal include:securing at least 50% marks in annual exams, maintaining at least 75% attendance, not receiving any other scholarship from another department/ministry, and having no complaints of indiscipline, criminal behavior, or ragging

  • If a student misses the renewal deadline, they can apply in the subsequent year if they still meet all eligibility criteria.
