Punjab SC Post-Matric Scholarship 2026-27: Apply by November 15

The Punjab government has launched its Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Caste (SC) students. Applications for the 2026-27 academic session are now open. Eligible students must apply by November 15, 2026. This initiative supports higher education for deserving students.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be Indian citizens and Punjab domiciliaries. They should belong to the Scheduled Caste category. The family's annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. Students must be enrolled in a recognized post-matric course. A minimum of 33% marks in the previous exam is often required.

Scholarship Benefits

The scheme offers significant financial support. It covers 100% of compulsory tuition fees. This applies to government and aided colleges. A monthly maintenance allowance is also provided. Hostellers can receive up to ₹1,200 per month.

Application Process

Apply online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Visit scholarships.gov.in to register. Complete the one-time registration using Aadhaar. Fill out the application form with all required details. Upload necessary documents like caste and income certificates. Submit your application online and print a copy. Hand over the printed copy to your college for approval.

Important Dates

The application portal opened on July 1, 2026. The last date for students to apply is November 15, 2026. Corrections to applications can be made until November 30, 2026. Institutions must complete verification by November 30, 2026. Final verification by nodal officers is due by December 15, 2026.

Aadhaar and DBT Reminders

Scholarship funds are disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Your bank account must be linked with Aadhaar. It also needs to be mapped for DBT through NPCI. Simply having KYC done is not enough. Visit your bank branch to ensure proper NPCI mapping. Request an Aadhaar Seeding Consent Form for DBT. This prevents payment failures.
