About the Program
Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students covers the entire cost of education for Scheduled Caste students admitted to India's premier colleges.
Benefits & Financial Support
₹2.9 Lakh+
The scholarship covers full tuition fees and non-refundable charges, with a cap of ₹2,00,000 per annum for private sector institutions. Additionally, students receive an academic allowance of ₹86,000 in the first year of study and ₹41,000 in every subsequent year. This academic allowance is intended to cover living expenses, books, stationery, and the purchase of a computer/laptop with accessories. The scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Students are responsible for promptly depositing the fees to their respective institutions within one month of receiving the payment.

Note: For SC students admitted to IITs, IIMs, NITs, and other premier NAAC/NIRF institutions.

Selection Process

Candidates must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category and have secured admission in a full-time prescribed course in one of the institutions notified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment

Scholarships are awarded based on the general selection criteria prescribed by the concerned institution

If the number of eligible students admitted exceeds the allotted slots, scholarships are restricted to the top students based on inter-se merit

In case of a tie for the last available slot, preference is given to the student with a lower family income. 30% of the allocated slots are reserved for eligible SC girl students

How to Apply Online
Applications are submitted online via Online. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

Go to the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in.

Click on the "New Registration" or "New OTR Registration" option under the 'Applicant Corner'.
- 3Read Guidelines
Carefully read the instructions and guidelines, then provide the undertaking by checking the box and clicking 'Continue'.
- 4Complete Registration
Register using your Aadhaar number and mobile number. An Application ID and password will be generated.
- 5Login
Log in to the portal using your Application ID and the generated password.
- 6Select Scheme
Choose the "Central Sector Scholarship Of Top Class Education For SC Students" scheme.
- 7Fill Application Form
Fill in all required personal, academic, and bank details accurately.

Upload all necessary documents, including your Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, Aadhaar card, Aadhaar-seeded bank account details, proof of admission, entrance exam scorecard (if applicable), Class 12 mark sheets, and fee structure of the program.
