The Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students in Karnataka provides financial assistance to Scheduled Tribe students pursuing education after Class 10. Offered by the Tribal Welfare Department through the State Scholarship Portal (SSP), this scholarship has two categories: full benefits for income up to Rs 2.5 lakh, and partial engineering/medical support for income between Rs 2.5-10 lakh. Students must be permanent Karnataka residents with minimum 50% marks in previous exam.

Full hostel fee coverage for eligible hosteller students
Maintenance Allowance Category 1: Rs 7,000 per year for day scholar students
Rs 13,500 per year for hosteller students in government hostels
Engineering/Medical Support Category 2 (Income Rs 2.5-10 lakh): Partial fee support for BE/B.Tech, B.Arch, ME/M.Tech, M.Arch, and Diploma in Polytechnic ONLY
Admission must be through Karnataka Examinations Authority - Common Entrance Test (KEA-CET) or Comed-K only

Post-Matric (Class 11 onwards including PUC, ITI, Diploma, UG, PG, Professional courses)
Must be enrolled in relevant courses.

Selection Process
Selection is based on Scheduled Tribe (ST) category status, continuous enrollment in a post-matric course, and family income criteria (under ₹2.5 lakh for full benefits
between ₹2.5 lakh and ₹10 lakh for partial support in professional courses).
Renewal Policy
To renew, students must apply on the SSP portal using their existing credentials, show proof of passing the previous year's examinations, maintain required academic attendance, and have the institution verify their continuous enrollment.

Complete NSP One Time Registration (MANDATORY FIRST STEP) - Visit scholarships.gov.in (National Scholarship Portal). Click 'One Time Registration (OTR)'. Complete Aadhaar-based eKYC and Face Authentication. Receive your OTR Number - REQUIRED for SSP application.

//ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in. Click 'Create New Account'. Enter Aadhaar number, name matching Aadhaar, mobile number, email. Verify OTP. Link Aadhaar with bank account (mandatory for DBT).
- 3Fill Application Form - Log in to SSP portal. Click 'Apply for Post-Matric Scholarship'. Select 'Tribal Welfare Department - ST Category'. Enter NSP OTR ID. Choose category
Category 1 (income <= Rs 2.5L) for full benefits OR Category 2 (income Rs 2.5-10L) for engineering/medical partial support. Fill personal, academic, and family details. Enter bank account details (Aadhaar-linked). Answer domicile question (Karnataka resident? Yes). For Category 2: Indicate KEA-CET or Comed-K admission. For hostellers: Select 'Hosteller' only if in government hostel.
