Benefits & Financial Support
The scholarship provides monthly financial support in Japanese Yen (JPY). The amount varies based on the length of the graduate program: ¥230,000 per month for programs lasting 1-2 years, ¥210,000 per month for 3-year programs, and ¥180,000 per month for programs extending beyond three years. This equates to an approximate annual range of 1,188,000 INR to 1,518,000 INR (conversion based on an approximate rate of 1 JPY = 0.55 INR, which may fluctuate). The scholarship covers the full minimum duration required to complete the degree. Additionally, a travel grant to cover expenses for attending an international conference may be provided. Scholarship recipients are generally not permitted to receive other scholarships, with exceptions for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship, Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students, and JSPS International Fellowship. The scholarship is non-repayable.
