The SSP Scholarship helps students from diverse backgrounds. This includes SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and economically weaker sections. Financial aid ranges from INR 2,500 to INR 13,500. The amount depends on your category and course.

Key Dates for 2026-27 Applications

Application deadlines vary by department. For Social Welfare Department post-matric scholarships, the last date is January 31, 2027. Backward Classes and Tribal Welfare Departments' post-matric schemes close on August 31, 2026. Minority Welfare Department scholarships have a deadline of September 30, 2026. Pre-matric scholarships generally close on September 30, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be a permanent resident of Karnataka. Most schemes require a minimum of 50% marks in the previous exam.

Income limits vary by category and scheme. For SC/ST students, the income limit is typically up to ₹2.5 lakh. Some post-matric SC students may qualify with income up to ₹10 lakh for partial benefits. For OBC/Minorities, the income limit is usually ₹1 lakh or ₹2 lakh per annum.

How to Apply

Visit the official SSP portal: ssp.karnataka.gov.in. New users must create an account using their Aadhaar number, email, and mobile number.

Complete Aadhaar e-KYC as it is mandatory. Upload necessary documents like caste, income certificates, and marksheets. Post-matric students also need e-attestation of documents by their college.

Aadhaar and DBT Reminders

Scholarship funds are disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Your bank account must be linked with Aadhaar (NPCI mapped). Ensure your Aadhaar is seeded correctly to avoid payment delays. You can check your NPCI mapping status.

Checking Application Status

After applying, track your scholarship status online. Visit ssp.karnataka.gov.in and use your Student SATS ID. This allows you to monitor your application progress.
