Students in Government institutions also receive free accommodation and food. For students enrolled in Government ITIs and Polytechnics, a monthly maintenance allowance of ₹2,000 is provided for hostellers/those residing in certified messes, and ₹1,000 for day scholars, to cover food, learning aids, and other incidental expenses. In the case of non-government unaided institutions, students may pay fees upfront and then seek reimbursement from the Government, with the reimbursement limited to a maximum of ₹5,00,000 for the entire duration of the course. All disbursements, including reimbursements and allowances, are typically transferred directly to the eligible students' Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.
