How to Apply Online

Applications are submitted online via the official portal. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

  Online Registration * Visit the official website of the JN Tata Endowment (jntataendowment.org). [6, 10, 13] * Register for the loan scholarship program, creating a unique login ID and password using a personal email address. [10, 13] * All subsequent correspondence will be through this registered email ID. [13]

  Fill the Application Form * Log in to the application portal using your registered credentials. [13] * Complete the online application form, providing accurate personal, academic, and professional details, including any work experience. [2, 4, 6, 13] * Craft and upload a compelling Statement of Purpose (SoP). [2, 4, 6, 19] * You can save drafts and complete the application in multiple sessions. [10, 13]

  Document Submission * Upload all required documents in grayscale PDF format, ensuring they are suitably named for identification. [4, 13, 19] * Mandatory Documents: * Recent passport-size photograph (500x500 pixels in JPEG format) [4, 6] * Masked Aadhaar card [4, 6] * Passport (first & last page) [4, 6] * Mark sheets/transcripts for all academic qualifications (undergraduate and postgraduate) [4, 6] * Statement of Purpose (SoP) [4, 6] * Letter of Recommendation (LoR) - provide recommender details; the Endowment will contact them directly.   Validate and Submit * Review your application thoroughly. [4, 13] * Validate the application form before final submission. Note that no changes can be made after final submission. For corrections post-submission, email jnteapplication@tatatrusts.org quoting your reference number. [4, 13]

  Shortlisting and Aptitude Test * After initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be informed via email to undergo an online aptitude test. [4, 6, 11] * The test assesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills. [3, 4, 11]

  Interview * Candidates successful in the aptitude test will be called for an online interview with a panel of experts. [2, 4, 6] * You must upload your admission/offer letter from the overseas university to the application portal at least one week prior to the interview. Without it, the interview will not be held.   Final Selection & Post-Selection Formalities * Final awardees are announced typically by mid-July. [4] * Upon acceptance of the loan scholarship, candidates must upload additional documents, including their PAN card, cancelled cheque/latest bank statement. [4, 19] * Guarantor's documents (PAN card, masked Aadhaar card, passport-size photograph, income proof/latest filed ITR) are also required. [4, 19] * You and your guarantor will be required to visit the Endowment Administrative Office for an online/in-person appointment to sign the necessary loan agreement documents.
