The J. N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship offers a loan amount ranging from INR 1,00,000 to INR 20,00,000. This is a loan scholarship, not a grant, and carries a simple interest rate of 2% per annum. The loan is disbursed in Indian Rupees directly to the scholar's bank account. Repayment begins from the 3rd year and is to be completed in five equal installments between the 3rd and 7th year, commencing from the date of disbursement. Trustees may, at their discretion, grant an exemption or rebate in the payment of interest. Additionally, selected scholars who accept the loan scholarship may be eligible for a criteria-based travel grant (up to Rs. 50,000) and a gift award (up to Rs. 7,50,000) from allied Tata Trusts, which can reduce the repayable loan amount.
Interest-free loan scholarship up to ₹20 Lakhs, possible additional gift scholarship (non-repayable grant up to ₹7.5 Lakhs), and travel grant assistance.
Note: Must be pursuing full-time postgraduate, doctoral, or postdoctoral studies abroad.

The selection process for the J. N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship is merit-based and involves several stages:
