Rajasthan Scholarships: The Complete Guide (2026)

Rajasthan uses one login for almost everything, called SSO. But that doesn't mean every scholarship works the same way — different departments manage different schemes behind that one login. This guide explains how it fits together, and two things that trip up a lot of students: Jan Aadhaar, and the state's Scooty schemes.

One login (SSO), but different departments behind it

Almost every Rajasthan scholarship application starts with SSO — Rajasthan's Single Sign-On portal, used across many state government services, not just scholarships. But once you're logged in, which scheme you see and apply for depends on the department running it:

• SJE (Social Justice and Empowerment Department) — runs caste-based Post-Matric scholarships for SC, ST, and OBC students, plus a Pre-Matric scheme for OBC/SBC/EBC students. Managed at sje.rajasthan.gov.in, but you still log in through SSO.
• Other departments — run broader schemes like the Chief Minister Higher Education Scholarship (open to General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS students) and the girls' Scooty schemes described below.

Jan Aadhaar is not the same as Aadhaar

This is one of the most common points of confusion. Jan Aadhaar is a Rajasthan state family ID card. It is separate from your national Aadhaar card, issued by the central government.

Most Rajasthan scholarship forms ask for both numbers — your national Aadhaar and your Jan Aadhaar. Having one does not mean you automatically have the other. If you don't have a Jan Aadhaar card yet, you can apply for one at your nearest e-Mitra center.

Two Rajasthan schemes give a scooter, not cash

Most scholarships pay money. Two Rajasthan schemes work differently — they give a scooter (Scooty) as the reward, usually tied to academic performance:

• Devnarayan Girls Student Incentive Scooty Distribution Scheme — for OBC girl students.
• Kali Bai Bhil Meritorious Girls Scooty Scheme — open to meritorious girl students across General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories.

If you are a girl student in Rajasthan and see one of these schemes, don't expect a cash transfer — the incentive itself is a vehicle, meant to support daily travel to school or college.

Documents Rajasthan almost always asks for

1. Jan Aadhaar Card — Rajasthan's own family ID, separate from national Aadhaar.
2. National Aadhaar Card, linked to your mobile number and bank account.
3. Caste Certificate, issued or verified through an e-Mitra center.
4. Income Certificate for the current financial year.
5. Current year college fee receipt.
6. Previous year's marksheet.
7. Bank account linked to Aadhaar (NPCI seeding), for Direct Benefit Transfer.

How to find the right scheme — step by step

1. Register on SSO first — nearly every Rajasthan scholarship needs this login.
2. Check your category. SC, ST, and OBC students should look at the SJE Post-Matric schemes.
3. Check the Chief Minister Higher Education Scholarship if you don't fit a specific caste category, or want to check a broader merit-based option.
4. If you are a girl student, also check the Devnarayan and Kali Bai Bhil Scooty schemes.
5. Get both your Aadhaar and Jan Aadhaar numbers ready, along with e-Mitra documents, before you start any form.
