It covers compulsory non-refundable fees, including tuition fees as fixed by the state government's fee fixation committee, and an academic allowance of up to ₹13,500 per annum, along with other benefits like hostel charges and day-to-day maintenance costs. The scholarship amounts are typically disbursed directly to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Selection Process

  • Candidates are selected based on meeting the eligibility criteria, which include being a domiciled citizen of Tripura and belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category

  • Applicants must be pursuing a post-matriculation or post-secondary course in a recognized institution, college, or university

  • The annual family income from all sources should not exceed ₹2,50,000

  • A minimum of 50% marks in the previous examination is generally required

  • The awardees are selected by the State Government/Union Territory.

Renewal Policy

  • Renewal of the scholarship is generally automatic, provided the student is promoted to the next class and maintains good conduct

  • A minimum of 75% attendance is required, which is verified through an Aadhaar-based attendance system

  • Students are also required to confirm having rejoined the same course as either a hosteller or day scholar

  • If a student is unable to appear for the annual examination due to illness, the scholarship can still be renewed upon submission of a medical certificate from an approved authority, which must be accepted by the institution

  • There should be no requirement for students to re-apply for renewals.
