About the Program

A dedicated scholarship for students with disabilities studying in Class 9 and 10 to support their transition to secondary education.

Benefits & Financial Support

₹15k+

The scholarship provides a maintenance allowance, a book grant, and a disability allowance. For day scholars, the maintenance allowance is ₹500 per month, and for hostellers, it is ₹800 per month, both payable for 10 months in an academic year. A book grant of ₹1,000 per annum is provided to all eligible students. The disability allowance varies based on the type of disability: ₹4,000 per annum for visually impaired or intellectual disabilities, and ₹2,000 per annum for all other types of disabilities. The scholarship amount is transferred directly to the bank accounts of beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

    Selection Process

    • Candidates are selected based on the following eligibility criteria: The applicant must be an Indian national

    • They must be a student with a benchmark disability (40% or more disability as defined in the 'Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016') and possess a valid disability certificate issued by a competent authority

    • Applicants must be regular, full-time students studying in Classes IX or X in a government school, a school recognized by the government, or a school recognized by the Central/State Board of Secondary Education

    • The annual income of the applicant's parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed ₹2,50,000

    • Not more than two children with disabilities from the same parents are eligible to receive benefits under the scheme, except in the case of twins where both may be admissible

    • Additionally, 50% of the total scholarships available each year are reserved for female candidates

    • if adequate eligible female candidates are not available, the remaining slots may be utilized for suitable male candidates

    • UDID/UDID enrolment is mandatory for availing the benefits of the scholarship scheme.

    Renewal Policy

    • The scholarship for studying in any given class is available for only one year

    • If a student has to repeat a class, they will not receive the scholarship for that class for a second or subsequent year

    • A student holding this scholarship is not permitted to avail any other scholarship or stipend simultaneously

    • No scholarship will be paid to students under this scheme from the date they accept any other scholarship/stipend.

    How to Apply Online

    Applications are submitted online via the official portal. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.
