About the Program

The Pre Matric Scholarship for ST students in Odisha provides financial assistance covering school fees, books, uniform and maintenance allowance for students from Scheduled Tribe families with income below ₹2.5 lakh studying in Class 9-10.

The Pre-Matric Scholarship rates for ST students have been enhanced to ₹16,000 per annum for boys and ₹17,000 per annum for girls, effective from December 1, 2025. The scholarship amount is paid once a year and is credited directly to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Selection Process

Renewal Policy

  • The scholarship is valid for one year per class

  • A student receiving the scholarship in Class 9 can renew it for Class 10, subject to good conduct and regularity in attendance

  • Students repeating a class will not qualify for a renewed scholarship for that same class

  • However, upon successful promotion to the next class, the scholarship may be renewed.
