About the Program
The Pre Matric Scholarship for SC students in Odisha provides financial assistance covering school fees, books, uniform and maintenance allowance for students from Scheduled Caste families with income below ₹2.5 lakh studying in Class 9-10.

The scholarship offers a consolidated academic allowance. For day scholars, the amount is ₹3,500 per annum, and for hostellers, it is ₹7,000 per annum. The payment is made once a year and is credited directly to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account; no cash payments are involved. The scholarship is payable from April 1st or from the month of admission (whichever is later) to the month in which the examinations are completed at the end of the academic year, including maintenance allowance during holidays. If a scholar secures admission after the 20th day of a month, the amount will be paid from the following month.

How to Apply Online
Applications are submitted online via Form-only. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

Visit the official Odisha State Scholarship Portal at scholarships.odisha.gov.in. New users should register, while old users can log in. Registration is Aadhaar-based; enter your Aadhaar number and proceed. One Aadhaar number is used for one account, and an OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar for authentication.

After successful registration/login, enter your User ID and Password. Select the relevant Department (ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department) and the 'Pre-Matric Scholarship for Class IX and X' scheme.

Complete the application form with all required personal, academic, and bank details. Ensure accurate information as the scholarship is directly credited to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account.

Scan and upload necessary documents, which typically include: your passport-size photograph, a valid caste certificate (SC), income certificate of parent(s)/guardian(s) (annual income not exceeding ₹2,50,000), a copy of your Aadhaar card, a copy of your bank passbook (showing account number and IFSC code), and the marksheet of your last examination passed.

For pre-matric scholarships, parents or guardians need to submit these documents at the student's school. The Head Master/Mistress will then apply on the student's behalf through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal.

To check your application status, navigate to the 'Know your Status' option on the homepage of scholarships.odisha.gov.in. Enter your Aadhaar card number or application number and validate with an OTP. Your application status will then be displayed on the student dashboard.
