The Pre Matric Scholarship for OBC/SEBC students in Odisha provides financial assistance covering school fees, books, uniform and maintenance allowance for students from Other Backward Classes families with income below ₹2.5 lakh studying in Class 9-10.
Benefits & Financial Support
A consolidated academic allowance of ₹4,000 per annum is granted to eligible OBC/SEBC students. The amount is disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) directly to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account, typically released by the State Government before 30th September following school verification.

Selection Process
Selection is based on eligibility criteria: the student must be a regular, full-time student in Class 9 or 10 of a Government or recognized school (OBC/SEBC eligible only in Government schools), the family annual income must not exceed ₹2,50,000, and the student must not be repeating the class.
Renewal Policy
The scholarship is available for one year per class
Students must reapply annually when promoted to the next class (e.g., from Class 9 to Class 10)
Repeating a class results in non-receipt of the scholarship for that class again
Renewal requires satisfactory academic performance and at least 75% attendance in the prior academic year.

Q. Can OBC/SEBC students applying for this scholarship attend private schools?▼
No. For OBC/SEBC and EBC categories, the scholarship is applicable only for students studying in Government Schools. Students in private or recognized schools outside the government system are not eligible for this specific scheme.
Q. What is the maximum family income allowed to apply?▼
The annual family income of parents or guardians from all sources must not exceed ₹2,50,000 (Two Lakh Fifty Thousand). If the income exceeds this limit, the student is not eligible.
Q. If I repeat Class 9, can I get the scholarship again for the same class?▼
No. The scholarship is available for only one year per class. Students who repeat a class will not receive the scholarship for that class again. You must apply again only when you are promoted to the next class (e.g., from Class 9 to Class 10).
