The Banishree Scholarship provides monthly financial assistance ranging from ₹400 to ₹700 per month (₹4,800 to ₹8,400 annually) to students with disabilities in Odisha pursuing education from primary to postgraduate level in recognized institutions with family income below ₹60,000 per year including additional reader allowance for visually impaired students and transport allowance for orthopedically handicapped students to reduce dropout rates and promote inclusive education.
Benefits & Financial Support
Primary (I-V): ₹4,800/year; Middle & High School (VI-X): ₹6,000/year; College (Plus-II & Plus-III): ₹7,200/year; PG/Technical/Vocational: ₹8,400/year. Additional allowances for transport/readers where applicable. Paid via DBT.

Selection Process
Based on verification of benchmark disability (≥ 40% certified by medical board) and annual family income ≤ ₹60,000.
Renewal Policy
Requires continuing as a regular student with satisfactory attendance, verified by the Head of the Institution
Renewed annually on the State Scholarship Portal.
