How to Apply Online

Applications are submitted online via Online. Complete eKYC, upload scanned documents, and submit before the closing date.

  One-Time Registration (OTR) / New Registration 1. Visit the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP) website: [scholarships.gov.in](https://scholarships.gov.in/). 2. Click on the “New Registration” tab on the homepage. 3. Read the registration guidelines carefully, agree to the terms and conditions by ticking the boxes, and click 'Continue' or 'Next'. 4. Enter personal details including your mobile number (for OTP verification) and Aadhaar number (or Aadhaar Enrolment ID if Aadhaar is not yet assigned). For minor students without Aadhaar, a parent/legal guardian's Aadhaar can be used. 5. Complete Aadhaar eKYC through OTP verification. 6. Fill in other required details like date of birth, email ID, state of domicile, category, and bank details. 7. Click 'Register' or 'Finish'. Upon successful registration, you will receive an Application ID and password via SMS to your registered mobile number. This Application ID is unique and valid for your entire academic career.

  Login and Fill out the Application Form 1. Go back to the NSP homepage and click on 'Login'. Select the academic year (e.g., 2026-27) and 'Fresh Login'. 2. Enter the Application ID and password received via SMS, and complete the captcha verification. 3. You will be prompted to verify an OTP sent to your registered mobile number and then change your password for security. 4. Once logged in, navigate to the 'Application Form' on your applicant's dashboard. 5. Select 'Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities'. 6. Carefully fill in all academic, bank, and family income details. 7. Upload the necessary documents. For scholarship amounts less than ₹50,000, documents may only need to be submitted to your institution, not uploaded to the portal. However, it's advisable to have them ready. * Aadhaar Card * Income Certificate (issued by a competent State/UT authority, annual family income not exceeding ₹2 lakh) * Minority Community Certificate (Self-declaration for applicants 18+, certified by parent/guardian for minors) * Previous Year Marksheet (with at least 50% marks) * Fee Receipt of the current course year * Aadhaar-linked Bank Passbook/Bank Account details (in the student's name or joint with parent/guardian) * Domicile Certificate * Bonafide Certificate from the institution * Student's Photograph 8. Review all entered details and uploaded documents carefully. Once submitted, no changes are allowed. 9. Click 'Final Submit'.

  Tracking Application Status 1. After final submission, you can track your application status by logging back into the NSP portal using your Application ID and password. 2. Look for the 'Check Your Status' or 'Track Application Status' section on your dashboard. 3. You can view whether your application is submitted, under verification by the institution/district/state authorities, approved, or if funds have been released. 4. Disbursement typically occurs between December and March of the academic year. You can also view the transaction status on the PFMS portal under the “Track NSP Payment” option using your application ID. For Renewal Applications (for subsequent years):** 1. Log in to the NSP portal using your previous year's Application ID and password. 2. Select the 'Renewal' option for the current academic year. 3. Update your personal and academic information, ensuring you provide details of your marks from the previous year. 4. Upload any required updated documents, such as the latest mark sheet or bonafide certificate. 5. Review and submit the renewal application.
