The scholarship amount for the Tamil Nadu BC/MBC/DNC Post-Matric Scholarship varies significantly based on the course and institution type for the academic years 2025-26 and 2026-27. For students in 11th and 12th standards, tuition fee assistance can be ₹500 per annum (₹50 per month for 10 months) and full examination fee coverage for 12th standard students. For students pursuing Undergraduate (UG) or Postgraduate (PG) courses in premier institutions like IIT, IIM, IIIT, NIT, and Central Universities, the scholarship can cover actual fees paid or up to ₹2,00,000 per year, whichever is less, for the entire duration of the course. For other post-matric courses such as ITI, Diploma in Polytechnics, Post Graduate, Professional, and Ph.D. courses, tuition fees, special fees (as fixed for Government educational institutions), full examination fees, and book money are sanctioned. Additionally, boarding and lodging charges at an enhanced rate of ₹4,000 per year (₹400 per month for 10 months) are sanctioned to students staying in hostels attached to educational institutions for UG, Professional, ITI/Diploma, and PG courses. The financial aid is typically disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts, usually between January and March, directly credited into the students' bank accounts through the Integrated Financial and Human Resource Management System (IFHRMS) by the respective Heads of the Department.
