The scholarship provides 100% reimbursement of compulsory institutional fees (which can be up to INR 1 lakh per year for private institutions) along with a monthly maintenance allowance. Day scholars receive a monthly allowance ranging from approximately ₹230 to ₹550. Hostellers receive a monthly allowance ranging from approximately ₹380 to ₹1,200. Additionally, benefits may include a study-tour allowance and thesis printing charges for PhD students. The total scholarship amount, comprising both Central and State government shares, is disbursed directly into the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), preferably via the Aadhaar Payment Bridge. Disbursement typically occurs between January and March following the application window.
