About the Program
The Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities in Karnataka provides financial assistance to students from minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) pursuing education after Class 10. This scholarship has two components: PMS (Post-Matric Scholarship) for general courses with income limit Rs 2 lakh, and MCM (Merit-Cum-Means) for professional/technical courses with income limit Rs 2.5 lakh. Students must apply through BOTH National Scholarship Portal (NSP) first, then State Scholarship Portal (SSP). Karnataka domicile students studying outside the state are also eligible.
Benefits & Financial Support
The scholarship amount is variable and depends on the course type (general, technical, or professional) and level of study (PUC, Diploma, UG, PG, or PhD). For general courses, the annual fee reimbursement is typically up to ₹20,000 for PUC/Diploma, ₹25,000 for UG, and ₹30,000 for PG; professional courses have higher limits. Funds are transferred directly to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after e-attestation by the institution principal.

Eligibility Criteria & Income Limit

Selection Process
Candidates are selected based on eligibility criteria: belonging to a recognized minority community (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi), having Karnataka domicile, securing at least 50% marks in the last board examination, and having an annual family income not exceeding ₹2,00,000
Selection is merit-neutral but requires complete documentation and verified e-attestation by the college.
Renewal Policy
The scholarship is renewed annually if the student passes the previous year's examination with at least 50% marks, continues in the same course, and maintains the income criteria
Renewal requires re-submitting the application on the SSP portal with updated academic records and fresh e-attestation by the institution principal before the deadline.
How to Apply Online
