About the Program

The Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities in Karnataka provides financial assistance to students from minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) pursuing education after Class 10. This scholarship has two components: PMS (Post-Matric Scholarship) for general courses with income limit Rs 2 lakh, and MCM (Merit-Cum-Means) for professional/technical courses with income limit Rs 2.5 lakh. Students must apply through BOTH National Scholarship Portal (NSP) first, then State Scholarship Portal (SSP). Karnataka domicile students studying outside the state are also eligible.

    //scholarships.gov.in (National Scholarship Portal). Click 'One Time Registration (OTR)'. Download NSP OTR Mobile App for Face Authentication. Complete Aadhaar-based eKYC using Face Authentication in app. Receive your OTR Number - this is CRITICAL for both NSP and SSP applications.

    Apply on NSP (FIRST APPLICATION) - Log in to NSP with OTR credentials. Select 'Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities' scheme. Select Karnataka as your state. Choose PMS (general courses, income <= Rs 2L) OR MCM (professional courses, income <= Rs 2.5L). Fill application form with personal, academic, family, bank details. Upload all required documents on NSP portal. Submit NSP application. Note your NSP Application ID - REQUIRED for SSP application.

Enter your NSP Application ID from Step 2 (MANDATORY field). Select minority community (Muslim/Christian/Sikh/Buddhist/Jain/Parsi). Fill SSP application form. Upload documents again on SSP (may require re-upload). Confirm domicile status (Karnataka resident? Yes).

    E-Attestation (SSP Specific) - Visit SSP e-attestation portal separately. Upload documents for e-attestation. Visit your designated e-attestation officer IN PERSON with ORIGINAL documents. Officer will verify and e-attest your documents online. Note

    E-attestation NOT required for PUC, ITI, GTTC, Diploma in Polytechnic/Education/Nursing/Pharmacy/Paramedical students.

    Submit Hard Copies - Prepare TWO sets of complete application with all documents. Submit ONE full set to your college/institution principal. Keep ONE set for personal reference. Principal will forward application as per workflow.
