Pre-Matric scholarships across most departments close on September 30, 2026. For Post-Matric schemes, deadlines vary by department. Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Welfare close on August 31, 2026. Minorities Welfare Department closes on September 30, 2026. The Social Welfare Department's deadline is January 31, 2027.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Highlights)

Applicants must be Karnataka residents. Scholarships are available for SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and EWS categories. Students from Class 1 up to PhD, including professional courses, are eligible. Family income limits apply, typically up to ₹2.5 lakh for many schemes. However, some schemes for particular categories or courses have higher limits.

Application Process Explained

The application process is entirely online through the SSP portal. First, complete a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) if you are an OBC, SC, or ST student. Then, create your SSP account using your Aadhaar number. E-KYC is a mandatory step for identity verification. Accurately fill in academic and certificate details. Finally, upload e-attested documents, review, and submit your application.

Key Documents Required

Prepare your Aadhaar card, linked to your bank account for DBT. You will also need your SATS ID (for Pre-Matric). An income certificate and caste certificate with valid RD numbers are essential. Keep your bank passbook and previous year's marks card ready. Bonafide or admission certificates are also required.

Aadhaar and DBT Reminders

Aadhaar seeding with your bank account is crucial. This ensures direct benefit transfer (DBT) of scholarship funds. Only one bank account can be actively linked for DBT. Verify your Aadhaar-bank link status using the mAadhaar app or your bank. If you have multiple accounts, the most recently linked one for DBT will be used. Make sure your biometrics are unlocked on Aadhaar for e-KYC. SSP automatically verifies caste, income, and religion details.
