PM-YASASVI Scheme Boosts Education for OBC, EBC, DNT Students

The Government of India is strengthening educational opportunities. It is doing this through the PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (PM-YASASVI). This scheme supports students from OBC, EBC, and DNT communities.

Eligibility Details

Students from OBC, EBC, or DNT categories can apply. Their family's annual income must be below ₹2.5 lakhs. The scholarship is for studies from Class 9 up to post-graduation. Students must be enrolled in "Top Class" schools or institutions. Selection is now based on merit from previous class marks.

Financial Support

The scholarship provides substantial financial aid. Students in Classes 9 and 10 can receive up to ₹75,000 annually. For Classes 11 and 12, this amount increases to ₹1,25,000 per year. This covers tuition, hostel fees, and other essential charges.

Application Process

Applications are submitted through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The online application window opened on June 1, 2026. The last date for students to apply is August 31, 2026.

Documents Needed

Prepare your Aadhaar Card and passport-size photograph. Also, keep educational marksheets and income certificate ready. A domicile certificate and caste certificate are also required. Disability certificates, if applicable, and bank details are necessary. Admission proof and fee details might also be needed.

Aadhaar and DBT Reminder

Ensure your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account. This is crucial for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of funds. Incorrect linking can delay scholarship payments. Update your bank account details on NSP accurately.
